Thread on gauze, light emitting diode
36 × 72 inches
2025
Series 1 of 3
Striae explores the intimate relationship between physical marks and personal identity. The thread on gauze mirrors the texture and permanence of scars, capturing their role as both a record of the body’s resilience and a map of lived experience. The inclusion of light symbolizes the healing and transformation that can arise from these physical imprints. This work is deeply personal, drawing directly from the scars on my body as a way to reflect on the intersection of vulnerability, strength, and the stories etched into us over time.
